Cellular crescent fills Bowman space, compressing the tuft. Marker of rapidly progressive GN — anti-GBM, ANCA, or immune-complex etiologies.
Labeled regions (3)
- 1Crescent
Proliferation of parietal epithelial cells + macrophages in Bowman space.
- 2Compressed glomerular tuft
Capillary loops pushed centrally by the crescent.
- 3Disrupted Bowman capsule
Outlines of capsule blurred by fibrin/cellular reaction.
